Ooh La Lacquer ~ Hey Papi

Ooh La Lacquer ~ Hey Papi
Lavender strong linear holo

This polish has been sitting in the box of untrieds for a while. It’s a pale lavender holographic and it’s the “pale” part that has the blame for it to sit there for so long :D

The formula is on the thin side and the polish is the kind that comes on streaky and patchy if you’re not careful. I’m pretty sure that an aqua basecoat would be very beneficial here. It’s a bit sheer too but I managed to build it up in two coats. The second coat was pretty rich though so perhaps it is even better with three thin coats.

Anyway! I stamped on it. I used the stamping plate “UR Beautiful-02” and I stamped with two polishes: Colour Alike’s “B. a Rainy Mood” and El Corazón’s “Midnight Tango”.

Here’s the final result, including a layer of topcoat.

Here’s the same thing in ordinary daylight, no sun. I wouldn’t wear this pale lavender on its own, but with a stamp in these two colours it works for me.

This is Hey Papi on its own; two coats and no topcoat yet.

Here are the polishes and the stamping plate I used. The design is in the top right corner.

I really like stamping with more than one colour, I think it gives such a great effect.

Ooh La Lacquer’s shop is closed “at the moment”. The last Facebook update is from May 2016. I would be rather surprised if the shop reopened. It’s a shame though, because she did make polishes with really impressive rainbows in them.

Number of coats: 2 rich coats
Drying time: Good
Finish: Strong linear holo
Overall impression: I love the rainbows. The sheerness and the paleness not so much :D
Buy again: Maybe

Anonymous Lacquer ~ Os To

Anonymous Lacquer ~ Os To
Deep magenta strong linear holo with a metallic-ish finish

About a year ago I had Mildred from Anonymous Lacquer make me this beautiful polish. She made two bottles, and I gave one of them to a dear friend of mine. “Os To” means “The two of us”.

I had a very special day ahead of me, and I wanted my nails to bring me luck. So I dug out this precious polish, that I’ve only worn once before.

The formula is a big thick – it was like that to begin with, but a year in the Helmer didn’t make it any thinner. I added a few drops of thinner before I did my nails. “Os To” is easily a one coater, but I did two coats because I like it like that. The drying time is good. I applied a layer of topcoat, and this is what this precious polish looks like:

I love everything about this polish: The colour, the finish, the rainbows, the quality. It’s a fantastic polish!

This picture is taken in the lightbox.

I wore it alone a year ago and I wore it alone this time too. I wanted this to shine on it’s own. I hope they’ll bring me the luck I wish for! :)

“Os To” is a custom made especially for me.

Number of coats: 2 but 1 is enough
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Linear holo with metallic finish
Overall impression: This is an amazing polish in all aspects
Buy again: Yes I would!

Catrice ~ Berry Bow

Catrice ~ Berry Bow
Deep berry pink with subtle shimmer

Barry Bow is from the ProvoCatrice collection from Summer 2017.
Barry Bow is a weird name and I was thinking that I may be able to get a job as a nail polish name giver. I think I would have called this polish Barry Mani-Bow instead, haha! :D

Ahem, anyway! I used two easy coats for full opacity and the drying time was pretty good.

I topped it with a layer of Out The Door’s “Northern Lights” holo glitter topper, and then I stamped on it. The floral design is from Moyra’s stamping plate No. 112: “Far Far Away”. I stamped with El Corazón’s stamping polish “Peach Echo”. I applied a layer of ordinary topcoat and this is my final manicure taken in the sun.

Isn’t that just pretty?

This is Berry Bow on its own, two coats and no topcoat yet. It’s a pretty and pleasant shade.

This is the stuff I used.

I know this is very Summer-y but I refuse to let the seasons dictate which designs I wear on my nails. Having said that: I don’t think I’ve ever worn anything really Christmassy over the Summer :D

Berry Bow was limited edition. I don’t know if you’ll be able to still buy it somewhere.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Subtle shimmer
Overall impression: Pleasant colour, nice quality
